Blogmas Day 7 – Gifts for Him

Comments 2 Standard

With two and a half weeks to the big day I worry some of you might be worried, wondering what do I get my boyfriend, dad or strange colleague that I drew in Secret Santa?

Well have no fear – I am here! With my handy guide to Gift buying for Him.

This post should be really easy, it is basically going to be a wish list of things I want masked in an attempt to help you out. (But also if anyone I know is stuck for gifts for me . . . here we go)

Gift One.

Funko Pops.

If you, the love of your life or that special family member is anything like me (a big ole Geek) then what is not to love about Funko Pops. They are the best stocking filler gift going. A great shout for any fan and the range they cater for is now massive. From Films to T.V. shows, to Disney, to Musicians, to the Royal Family.

Though also if you are like me, then you might be somewhat particular about the collection you have, so shop with caution.

Gift Two.

Grooming Products.

Us men need some TLC at times too and what better way to do that with a nice grooming gift set. Recently I started using Black Leopard Skincare line of grooming products and haven’t looked back since. Their range stretches from Face Scrubs to Hair Gel, eye cream to shaving cream and even a lovely moisturiser. What is better than having your man, dad or brother feel fresh and smell good. A bit of self-care and loving it always needed and what better excuse, especially at Christmas.

Gift Three.

This little gem will always hit my guide list and I don’t even own one! This is more of just a want from me. But the more I research the more I wish I could get one. For the techies that want to live their Iron Man JARVIS house dream – this is the start. One day I imagine having a Smart House and a house tablet that can control the whole building. With the ability to answer questions, play music, control the heating and lights. The possibilities will be endless.

Gift Four.

Aviation Gin.

Aviation Gin 70cl

A bottle of something is always a nice gift, especially with the classy quirky boxes and gift sets they come in. If Gin is not his tipple (it’s mine) then why not something else. But I’ve added Aviation because it’s made by Ryan Reynolds. I don’t mean he is making home-brew in his bathtub. But he founded the company and it’s a gin I have always wanted to try.

Gift Four.

Playstation Icon Sign.

Now for something a little geeky. This light is perfect for the players! A quirky nod to the PlayStation’s controller buttons will bring light to any gaming setup. As long as we didn’t start the debate as to which console is better Playstation vs XBox we’ll be ok . . . *cough* PS4 *cough*

Gift Five.

Sports Team Shirt.

Mens Houston Texans JJ Watt Nike Navy Blue Game Jersey

This one is for the sporty guy in your life, the lad, dad or striker. Sporting merchandise is always a great shout when it comes to gifts. As long as you know their team. The image is the Houston Texans Jersey which can be found along with other teams and merch over on Fanatic Shop. But if NFL isn’t their thing, they do football, rugby or even F1.

In my bathroom at home we have a handful of rubber ducks with the Norwich City emblem on them. Usually the teams own store has some wonderfully quirky and cool gifts. Take a look.

I hope this handy little guide has helped, let me know if you use it or what you are getting instead.

Blogmas Day 6 – T.V. Specials

Comment 1 Standard

Hello my festive pretties, today we are talking about T.V Christmas Specials because who doesn’t like watching TV on Christmas Day.

Part of the Christmas Day tradition usually involves slumped on the sofa nursing a food baby, partially comatose and watching some T.V. special. Now not reading the T.V. Guide this year I am not sure what there is to entice us all in. From recent years I’ve felt the main top dogs (BBC and ITV) have lacked something special and we have had to move over to the likes of GOLD (or whatever it’s called nowadays) and Dave for a bit of real entertainment. That being said here is my list of Christmas T.V. Specials that I really enjoy and always almost get watched over the festive season.

Gavin and Stacey – The Christmas Special.

What an entry to start with, a festive fun emotional episode which deals with the two families sharing Christmas together, Gavin breaking the news to his side about him moving to Wales and the classy Band Aid cover. It’s just an all-round warm fuzzy episode that is easy going and perfect for that food coma you put yourself in. Giving a realistic look at an average household Christmas; talking about Noel Edmonds, enjoying a festive dinner and have a little tiff with the estranged family members. I for one love it I do!

Only Fools and Horses – If They Could See Us Now.

Next must-see viewing or classic memory of Christmas T.V. Special would have to be Only Fools – after a good run there were a few episodes to pick from, but I settled on this one. It starts with the Trotters on holiday in Monaco living the cushy lifestyle – but that lasts minutes and they are back at Nelson Mandela House. Then after a bit more heartfelt Christmas esque love, ole Del Boy ends up on a game show thinking he can make his millions back – pure gold. As well as the episode itself the show generated the accolade of “BBC’s Most Viewed Television Programme of the Decade” – with an approximately 21.3 Million tuning in to watch it. – Crazy right, clearly they were doing something right.

Morecambe and Wise – Any Show or Compilation.

Anyone that knows me will know that I love this comedic duo so much – the phrase “They don’t make ’em like they used to” is so real and appropriate with this duo. Classic wholesome family fun using a smooth mix of acting, comedy, dancing and singing to make the perfect comedy duo. It always seems like a festive go to watch as well –  I promise you somewhere on the box someone will be showing an episode of this pair and laughter will ensue.

FRIENDS – The One With The Holiday Armadillo

Last but not least I can’t go without mentioning FRIENDS – again with a handful to pick from I have chosen the Holiday Armadillo. In an attempt to teach his son about his Jewish heritage, Ross tries to dress up as Santa and encourage Ben (his son) to take an interest – the only problem being, he can’t find a Santa costume anywhere. . . leaving him to improvise and become the Holiday Armadillo. It’s a cute yet still comical episode about the Maccabees and the lighting of the Menorah. Comedy comes flying back in when Chandler manages to find a Santa suit in an attempt to help Ross, while Joey goes the other way and bursts in dressed as Superman. It’s a festive fun episode that is such easy watching you will laugh every time.

I hope you have enjoyed my list of festive Christmas T.V. Specials, let me know what you love to watch and the must-see shows you always put on over the Christmas period.

 Much love.

Blogmas Day 2 – Christmas Traditions

Happy Lazy Christmas Sunday Guys. I hope you are well.

Today’s post we are talking about Christmas Traditions.

I love Christmas and the whole festive season. One tradition I love to do, but sadly isn’t an annual thing anymore is the following – Visiting my dads house back in Lincolnshire, I’d drive up on Christmas eve and with my Sister and Old Man we would have a takeaway – I do too much cooking on Christmas Day. No need to do any on Christmas Eve right.

Then I head out into the sleepy market town to meet up with old school friends where we would go to the pub and spend the night, drinking, sharing stories, catching up and singing badly to Christmas songs. Normally taking control of the Jukebox in the pub and spamming it with Christmas hits, 80’s power ballads, screamo and pure cheese. We cover all bases.

I have always had the vision of when I’m older having a big family Christmas. Like what you see in the American Christmas films, all generations sitting around a big table with bowls of food and festive table decorations. This is a Tradition I’d like to put together and work towards when I am older. Enjoying Christmas with family.

Another tradition that I have revolves around Christmas films, it’s like a challenge to watch as many Christmas films in the month as possible. Which means lots of lazy weekends with festive snacks and movies. Wrapping presents while watching Elf, having a beer with Die Hard or just a lazy Sunday morning with Miracle of 34th Street and It’s a Wonderful Life. These moments are what make Christmas Christmas to me.

Another tradition that I usually do a couple of times a year is visit the German Christmas Markets. They are just magical places filled with cute huts, beer, christmas decorations and tasty treats. Sadly they cancelled Northampton’s a few years back and now we have to go somewhere else but that makes for a cute weekend. Nottingham, Birmingham, London.

Oh and how can I forgot Bixby! My Elf on a Shelf. Yes I am fully aware this is VERY America and aimed at the children. But nevertheless I wanted to start now in preparation for the future. The problem I might find as I hide him and move him every couple of days is the fact my GF HATES him. Not sure why – look at his lovely face, he is a little gem.

I also like the Naughty Elf snaps that people post – proper Sex Drugs and Rock n Roll style. Google them if you are not sure what I mean. Not the Child Friendly option though.

And now as we have just moved into a house I think this is the perfect time to start new traditions. But what? I would really like to know your Christmas Traditions, what is a must over this festive season? I’d love to know.

Happy Holidays!

Blogmas Day 1 – Welcome To Christmas.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls. It is finally CHRISTMAS!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year and I love it. I am talking, the music, the decorations, the chill in the air and the magic twinkling in the night sky. It’s all amazing and I get so excited this time of year.

This is our first Christmas in our new house which is a magical feeling. Also it has meant more space to decorate and cover in festive cheer. We even spoke about getting TWO trees – which I think I am winning on.

First thing I did this morning, as soon as I woke up I put Fairytale of New York on and sung my lungs out. That is a Christmas Tradition for me, then I spent the rest of the day buying decorations, seeing family, friends, enjoying the first of December and walking with an extra skip in my step. I am literally like a Who from Whoville when it comes to Christmas.

Keep your eyes peeled for the next few nights (11 to be exact) I will be posting treats and gems to enjoy over the season.

I can’t wait to share all this with you.

Merry Christmas!

Redecorations & Sexy Smart Canvas Art

Comments 3 Standard

Over the past week me and GF have found out our lodger is moving out which means its time to redecorate the spare room. A fresh lick of paint, a new lampshade – heck maybe even some new curtains. Yes this is where life is at right now.

Adulthood at its finest.

So ideas came flooding in. Some were accepted and some were thrown straight in the bin (mostly my ideas were binned) but I stood strong and finally won one.

It’s the little victories in a relationship that you have to cherish.

This came at a good time because I had been approached to do a collab with Photowall. A Sweden canvas and artwork company. The lovely Jenn got in touch and struck up a deal. She proposed she’d send me a print if I review and promote it.

I was honoured. Little old me being asked to do this. It’s the start of a beautiful friendship.

So with the new room decorations in mind, me and the GF picked a print that would suit and look smart. I put my order in and within days a package was at my door.

Inside was the print rolled up and nicely protected. A bag of screws, a wall hook and some corner braces. Along with a single page of instructions on how to assemble the canvas – it was so easy, I put the canvas together in about 20 minutes.

They have several options for prints. Framed. Non framed and self build. It was honestly the easiest thing ever. The wood has double-sided tape on already – all you have to do it peel and place. Once all the frame lengths are down you fold them over and bolt them together. No tools were needed it’s that simple.

Just like that it was built and ready to be hung on the wall. I can not fault Photowall for the superb service and amazing quality of print they sent out. They also have a really smart Casablanca canvas that I might have to order next.

Not All Who Wander

Now we just need to wait for the decoration to be done to hang this canvas. But I would buy from Photowall again. The selection they offer, the service and quality are all top-notch.

If you fancy one of their amazing canvases – take this discount code for 20% off and get yourself one today.

ManVsAdCampaign2018

This code is live until 10th March. If you use it let me know what print you picked. Just cause I’m nosey and curious as there is so many good ones to pick from.

Once again – Thank you Photowall – you guys are awesome and as always thanks to you my beautiful readers who make things like this possible.
