The Beginning

My first thought when getting the notification that the lovely Liz from Kentucky was “ooh tagged – she is a gem” then I opened the link. “Flawesome Award? What the fudge is this . . . I like it”. I’ve never heard of it but I love these kind of posts and I am so thankful for the tag. If you don’t know Elizabeth go and check her out, she is funny, insightful, informative and has a tiny obsession with Ryan “Hot Stuff” Reynolds . . . who knows why!

She can be found Here, Here and Here. Blog. Instagram. Twitter.

About the Flawesome Award:

Created by Sophia Ismaa, the objective of the Flawesome Award is to celebrate the flaws that make us awesome. With this award, we are reminded that our flaws are unique things that can give us strength, and make us awesome. Sophia said: “Our flaws make us human, our flaws tell us more about who we are, and in turn we turn those flaws into awesome strengths. In short, our flaws make us #flawesome.”

My Flaws.

I am going to struggle with this post I think, not because I think I am perfect and flawless – because I don’t. More because I struggle to highlight flaws in myself as I always try to turn even the negative things into positive. Which is the aspect of this post so I guess I just need to suck it up and start my usual ramblings.

Flaw 1.

Struggles with being impatient.

IMG_0204I have always been a fantasist. Dreaming of a better life, job, dream. Thinking – when I do this it will mean I can do this, this and that. Which would be awesome. But sadly my life hasn’t gone like that. I become very impatient to want to have that end goal NOW and skip the years of slog it will cost and cause me to get there. But with this is mind I have been able to look at this, process and make smaller targets to build to the bigger picture. Rather than jumping straight for the end goal and getting disheartened when I fail. Instead I can go step by step and build mini victories.

Flaw 2.

Being in Control.

10156132933225582

I have a tendency to be in control, as much as I don’t worry or panic about anything. I still like to know what is going on and the gossip or info. It’s not a great thing because obviously because as soon as I am out of the loop or not able to get the information or knowledge I need I get filled with anxiety and worry that I am going to miss out or not know the answer. But on the flip side what makes the FLAWESOME is that fact I am very observant and always listening. (I’d make a great Spy). Which means even if I am not involved I am gather info. You know upon reading that back it sounds very shifty. Honestly I am a good guy!

Flaw 3.

Caring & Kind.

IMG_20180315_153049_455.jpgWait what? How is that a flaw? You are right is it a flaw? Well in my case I think it can be. I care too much, I want everyone to be happy – even if that means putting my happiness at risk to allow someone else to be happy – I will do that. I always have. It is something I need to work on, everyone deserves to be happy – even me. Not to say I am not, it boils down to priorities doesn’t it. Looking after number one while also caring and spreading love to others.

My Nominees for the Flawesome Award:

Enjoy & Good Luck.

10 Unusual Things About Me

Comments 9 Standard

IMG_20180315_153049_455.jpg

So here we are, back again – trying to get an understanding of who I really am? I mean come on guys don’t you know enough already – well Nicola from Nic’s Healthy Life thinks not and so has tagged me in something fun. “Ten Unusual Things About Me” check out her post just HERE and find her on social media – she’s a hoot. – TwitterBlog

So here we go. Firstly let me start by saying 10 is a big number, this is tough. So I am sorry if some of the later ones down the list are just silly.

  1. I put milk in first when making tea. (It’s the British way. Milk cools the china so stop it cracking)
  2. I used to be a Vegetarian – Not sure why or how this came about. Just I remember a period of claiming it. Until I ate a burger at our Year Six School leavers Party. #Wild
  3. I’m allergic to Orange Juice – Awkwardly went on a first date once, she was drinking OJ all night. Then we got to a point where we discussed allergies. We laugh about it now.
  4. I love a challenge! Regardless of what is it – I will try my best to complete it. But I am also wise enough to admit defeat at times.
  5. I am not a fan of Horror films – but I like Supernatural spooky stuff. I think the films thing is because there isn’t really a good Horror now days. Over the top blood fests are just not scary.
  6. I love the era of 1910’s 1920’s Gangsters – the Italian, Irish Mafia Bootleggers. I’d love to experience a week in the life. Maybe I should work on time travel.
  7. I love Christmas – Not much of a hidden fact. But I am running short of ideas and as the season rolls around I felt you should know. I LOVE IT!
  8. As much as I am a film fanatic – I have never seen Titanic.
  9. My favourite number is “19” – can’t tell you why as I don’t know.
  10. I am a big believe in anything and everything unexplainable, creepy, or conspiracy based. JFK Assassination – Magic Bullet hmmm, Zeus and the God, Creepy haunting stuff, Aliens. All of it interests me and I have opinions on all.

Wow I did it. Ten. Go me – what do you think? Happy? Feel like you know me better?

Now to the bit I don’t like with these . . . tagging people. I love to share but this bit is time-consuming and hard to whittle it down to only a handful of awesome people. But here goes I want to know more about; Gemma, Megan, Jay, Soph, Erika, Zara, Katy, Lucy, Anne, Clem.

Team, your challenge is to share 10 unknown facts about yourself so we can get to know you better.

Enjoy!

Happy Friday Boys and Girls. We’ve made it – the weekend is nearly here. I am going out tomorrow night for the first time since Christmas to celebrate my friends “Baby Daddy Shower” because why can’t men celebrate the joyous occasion as well.

I have to thank Paolo for nominating me – check his blog out HERE, his work and content is amazingly put together, such a good read and also just really nice guy who is mega supportive.

THE BLOGGER RECOGNITION AWARD

So this award is basically an award made by bloggers for bloggers.  These awards are not so much awards in the traditional sense but rather a fun way to show other bloggers support and appreciation.  It’s also a nice way to get to know a bit more about some of the bloggers out there.  That being said here are the rules for this award:

  1. You have to write a blog post thanking the person that nominated you.
  2. Explain your story on how and why you started blogging.
  3. Share two general pieces of advice to other bloggers.
  4. Nominate fifteen other bloggers and let them know you’ve nominated them too.

Let’s get right to it then.

Why Am I Here!

The reason I got into blogging was, I wanted to make a parenting fatherhood blog, a place to document and writing about the trails of being a Daddy! But as we are currently not on the children conversation level that is a long way off – but I still wanted to start a blog. So I decided to change it from Parenthood to Adulthood – showcasing my life becoming an adult, dealing with bills and banks and buying new bedding.

Which is where we are now! Hello.

Blogging Advice

  1. Don’t be afraid to laugh or potentially be laughed at – this isn’t as mean as it might sound. I’m at a point in my life where I just generally don’t care what people think about things I say or do. When I was younger I used to constantly rack my mind with alternate situations where – “If I do this, those people will laugh” scenarios and that can be damaging to a personality and someone’s confidence I think. So I got out of that habit, but I still see it a lot today – people who are worried about what other people will think about them. This isn’t a good thing – which leads to my advice. Whatever you do, do it for the right reasons that you believe in. Don’t worry about what someone will say – there is 100’s of 1000’s of people in this world, at least one person will disagree or find a way to take offense and then will try to bring you down. Ignore that. Stay smiling. Do it for you! Not for them.

  2. Tweet till you can’t tweet no more – I have found Twitter to be the best platform to promote  my blog and to meet new friends and other bloggers. Interact with people, even if it starts as a little “Well Done” or “I do that too :)” it’s a start and gives you an in to start making friends with and contacts. These people will become your online community, friends and family. They are the best bunch of misfits, randomers and beautiful supportive people you could ever find. Trust me!

Now it’s time for the Nominations: The tough part because I have to find their addresses for each for each blog. . . . but that’s worth it. Check all of these out and I can’t wait to read your replies.

The Sunshine Blogger Award

Comments 11 Standard

Good Morning World, it’s a bright new sunny day.

I love being nominated for these Awards, they are a great way to meet and learn about new people and bloggers in the world.

Thank you Anniens for tagging me. People check out her blog just HERE, she is fun and a very talented blogger.

RqtEs1516087987Here we go:

1. What was your last dream? I dreamt the other day that a group of us were cleaning in an old rundown house, searching through the trinkets and piles of stuff, when two old ladies from the house next door warned us of the previous owner. Then the rest of the dream was spent noticing this figure lurking in different corners of the place – turned creepy right. Oh and the taps in the sink didn’t work.

2. Who’s your inspiration? Of recent I would have to say Maud, Hayley and Bexa

3. What was the first blog you ever read? (if you remember) I am not sure, in my newest blog attempt I would have to say it was probably Saph – she is such an inspiration and deserves all the praise she gets.

4. If you remember, then about what was your first blog post? My first ever blog was a film review blog that unbeknown to me, got disabled due to lack of use. Good times.

5. Is there something you were afraid of, but aren’t anymore? Commitment – being tied to one location through work, relationships or family. The only Direct Debit I would have tied to my bank was a phone bill. I just liked the idea of being able to get up and go at any point without having to cut ties.

6. If you could live anywhere in the world, where it would be? I’d live in New York City – such an amazing city!

7. What was the last movie you watched? This Is England – such a harrowing movie covering topics that are still as apparent today as they were back then.

8. Winter or summer and why? (This answer changes every few months) Summer, for the long days, the road trips with the music up and window down and the happiness the sun brings.

9. If you could change one thing in the world what it would be and why?” I should probably use this question to answer with a world benefiting solution. Solve World Hunger, Cure Disease or Remove Trump from Office. But I have to be honest and selfish this time – If I could change one thing in this world it would be my financial status, it’s a constant source of worry and grief for me and if that changed not only my personal and professional life would be different but I also feel my mental health would be a bit more solid as a result.
10.If you could start your blogging journey all over again what would you do differently? I would dedicate more time to it, something I am trying to learn to do now. But time and focus is the main thing to get this off the ground – I am getting there slowly.

11.What’s your favourite song for the moment? I’ve gone through a bit of an Irish Folk section in music of resent and my favourite song is: Whiskey in the Jar by the Dubliners. Which can be found just HERE.

My Questions For You:

  1. You wake up on a desert island – what three things would you take with you?
  2. Who would you have play you in a movie?
  3. What was the last Text you sent? (Full text, out of context and unedited)
  4. You know the world is about to end tonight, how would you spend your final day?
  5. What is your biggest fear?
  6. What makes you overwhelmed with happiness?
  7. You are tasked with saving the world, your partner is a character from the last thing you watched – who is helping you and will it be successful?
  8. In the recent light of hate towards FRIENDS – what are your feelings on the show?
  9. What would your dream car be?
  10. Where do you see yourself by Christmas?
  11. Why is there 11 questions?

And the nominations are:

Thank you all for reading, you are just one big bunch of beautiful people.
