Happy November.

This is it guys, Halloween is over – time to pack the pumpkins back in the box, hang up your fangs and pop those sexy cat ears back in the draw for next year.

But don’t be sad – this is a good thing. Because now we are in NOVEMBER! And this means, Fireworks, Bonfires, Remembrance Day, GF’s Birthday, Christmas Markets and the countdown to Christmas itself!

I love this time of the year and I think this is also a great chance to start the season of with some festive loving and blog sharing.

I’ve hand selected three bloggers that I want to share with you all (it was hard to pick as if I could I would share and write about all my followers, as they are amazing people) but for this moment here are three that I strongly suggest you check out, follow and make friends with.

Nicole

Nicole – My Superhero Cousin with the Irish Blood. – What an absolute gem, kooky, crazy, funny and sweet. Sometimes she needs a wee boost of pick me up. But we all do every so often. Nicole is real, her photography on Insta are amazing and just all round swell gal. Go check her out and say hey. Twitter, Blog, Instagram.

Abbie 🐢🌱

Abbie – If I were King Arthur she’d be my Holy Grail, amazing, captivating but out of reach. Geographically we are miles apart. But that doesn’t stop me from loving everything about her – nailing Blogtober like a boss, rocking a new quirky hair style or sipping gin. The list goes on. She is incredibly supportive and well worth a good follow. Twitter. Blog. Instagram.

Matthew

Matt – My man! The lad. I don’t know about you dude, but I bet we’d be great drinking buddies in another life. If it’s not takeaways, his dogs or suits he is posting some stunning photography and my god I mean it’s something amazing. Well worth a follow if you ask me. Twitter. Blog. Instagram.

Also for any of my Insta / Twitter fans you will see I dressed up as POTUS Donald Trump. Which was awesome, so much fun and as we know I love dressing up. Didn’t I mention it [Yes, Here] – anyway here is me and then here is the results of the voting from the office competition.

I WON!

Lost in Life.

Comments 21 Standard

I’m not sure where this post is going or what its even called.

(I assume the title above is fitting. But as I write this I have nothing planned)

Over the past day or so ive realised something about my self and my personality. Which is always dangerous to self criticise and evaluate yourself but I went there – and what I found made sense. It made me think about every past exploit and choice I’ve made.

My findings – I have no drive.

Wait what does that even mean. Now you are wondering. Where does he park his car? Or not. Sorry for the dad joke.

I mean Drive / Dedication / Motivation. So many times I have had an idea. Something new to look into. Usually job related. I do research and plans and then never go anywhere with it because I never follow it through.

The biggest one in my past is film making. I love it so much. I wanted to set up a production company and go freelance. All planned. Named. Cards printed. But just getting that umph to start it never appeared. Another example was setting up an etsy shop to sell Groomsmen gift boxes. Working out the costs and the realistic demand for it. But again after all that work put in – I did nothing with it.

Same again when it comes to writing scripts and even a children’s story book. I begin full of life and positivity and then let it fizzle out when it comes to commitment.

I think it boils down to a fear of the unknown. Leaving my stable reliable old job to take that plunge and go it alone. Risk that stability and just go for it. Scary right.

My latest idea in the planning stages (which will remain a secret for the moment) is a similar thing. I don’t think it will take off or amount to anything.

I’m lost. Left wondering the world unsure as to what I want to do when I grow up. Does anyone else get this? A sense of being lost and unsure.

I think of recently the only thing I have kept going is this blog and I’m still in the baby steps of this. Ideally I would love to get to a point where I can make this self-sufficient and make this my work and job.

One day hey.

Sorry for the rant / over sharing. But you know what they say. I’ll work it all out one day and it will be good.

Until then. Lets just smile and get on with it.

Peace ✌

My Throwback Playlist

Over the weekend my GF and I got into a really strange but cool conversation about music – more importantly about late 90’s early 00’s punk rock.

The music I grew up on.

The reason this conversation was really fun for me was because her music taste is a bit left field for my general liking: preferring the likes of Little Mix and Rihanna. But it turns out through a few friends she had a patch of real music in her life.

Let me also say the views in this post are my own – using the term “Real Music” refers to something with instruments. I am not a fan of Auto tuned hip hop style stuff. Just how it is. The point of the post isn’t to slate different genres as I am fully aware everyone has their own taste and would not want to take that away from anyone.

The point of this post is to compile a playlist of songs that I grew with jamming too and lost gems that I haven’t heard in ages.

Get your best Air Guitar out the cupboard and get ready to ROCK!

My throwback feel good playlist is as followed. . .

  1. The Anthem – Good Charlotte: The GF loves this tune and will randomly start singing “Cause I don’t ever wanna, I don’t ever wanna”
  2. Dance Dance – Fall Out Boy: This song makes the cut because it’s the easiest title. Their whole “From Under the Cork Tree” album is awesome but all their songs have silly long names.
  3. Fat Lip – SUM41: What a great get psyched start to a song, that riff and then that fast paced burst of lyrics about Storming through a party.
  4. Misery Business – Paramore: This was a tune and half. I remember it taking my final year of school by storm and turns out one of the GF’s favourites too. Plus how hot is Hayley Williams 😘
  5. The Middle – Jimmy Eat World: Could be more something to do with the music video, but still a sweet song to jam too.
  6. Pretty Fly for a White Guy – The Offspring: Again they had a few I thought about throwing on here but there is something about this one that reminds me of an old friend who was pretty fly but never as cool as he thought.
  7. Famous Last Words – My Chemical Romance: I love this song because of how dramatic is it and turns out she loves it because she found out I can drum it. I like the little trivia about the Craig Simons the Drummer suffering from a slight burn and discomfort during the music video as a result of the massive fire behind him. Check out the end of the video HERE
  8. No One Knows – Queens of the Stone Age: Throw a great drum beat, a wild bunch of lyrics and a strange music video together and what do you get – this absolute beaut.
  9. Bring me to Life – Evanescence: A slight dip into the dark gothic area as we all did back in the day. It’s not a heavy song, but it is a great mix of soft also orchestra like music mixed with the upbeat rock of the band. What a tune.
  10. Holiday – Green Day: My biggest love, I couldn’t write a list like this and not include them. Their energy and talent is infectious and their music amazing! The GF got me tickets to see them at Barclaycard British Summer Time last summer which was awesome & she loved it as well.

I hope you enjoy this list, it’s been a real throwback listening to these and others again – strange how I can still remember the tunes and lyrics to them. If you have never heard of some of these tracks before go and check them out. Or strangly just out on the American Pie 2 soundtrack. That covers most bases.

These songs were my teenage youth – long summers with nothing to do, hanging out at skate parks, throwing house parties and rocking out in band practise.

Good times!

GREAT TIMES!

Personality Test – Who Am I?

Comments 8 Standard

analysts_ENTJ_francis_j_underwood_house_of_cardsPicture the scene, the office environment – the sound of buzzing keys bouncing off the keyboard, chatter in every corner and the drone of the phone ringing throughout the halls.

In true water cooler chit-chat style I got chatting to my friend in the other department and he began to tell me about a “Personality Test” his brother had showed him. He went on to explain it’s an American thing that some companies in States hold in high regards and can be picky enough to turn down your application if you are not the character traits they are looking for.

Results

So I took the test, curious to know what my personality would kick out . . . I am a “Commander” – which goes on to explain how Commanders are Natural-Born leaders who embody the gifts of charisma and confidence, while also being able to project authority in such a way that draws a crowd and unites people with a common goal. This people are making up three percent of the population, so I’ve somehow managed to land in a rare and somewhat supreme spot.

This results page goes into so much depth and details that I could be here for ages to note it all down and go into it all. But I am going to highlight the first page which is Strengths and Weaknesses.

My Strengths and Positives are; Efficient, Energetic, Self-Confident, Strong-Willed, Strategic Thinker, Charismatic and Inspiring.

While my weaknesses are supposedly as followed: Stubborn and Dominant, Intolerant, Impatient, Arrogant, Poor Handling of Emotions, Cold and Ruthless.

Which upon looking at this I can or could somehow understand how each of these traits are something I have, do or don’t do. For example straight of the bat I would agree that I am Self-Confident, but I can also see my weakness of Impatient – I hate having to wait and will actively avoid doing something if I can see my time is going to be wasted when I know it usually shouldn’t take that long.

I don’t agree with being titled as Intolerant, I would say personally I am supportive and open to other people’s ideas, thoughts and notions. The same can be said about Poor Handling of Emotions, I would like to think my emotions are in check and that I can handle, hold and display my emotions as and when needed.

If you want to take the test and see your results this is the link: https://www.16personalities.com/free-personality-test

I would love to know what you are deemed as, also the site also gives you examples of people you are like. As a Commander I was liked to; Steve Jobs, Harrison Ford, Margret Thatcher, River Tam from Firefly and the Controversial Francis J. Underwood from the phenomenal House of Cards (lets not get into the actor who plays him)

This could be seen as a way of understanding oneself, from this I can take away the points that this very detailed result page has given me and work on areas I see as flaws. Or on the other hand it could be taken as another silly internet quiz that looks fancy enough to be believed while being accompanied by some rather cool nifty artwork.

Regardless of which you believe I find this stuff rather interesting and being able to relate to the answers I believe the results more. This could be the start of a brand new relationship with myself. The beginning of something special.
